ABOUT ME I married my husband Steve in December of 1996. Within a year of our marriage we were pregnant with our first child. Now I have 4 beautiful children! My son Travis, 8 lb. 2 oz., was a cesarean birth in July 1998 followed by the VBAC birth of our daughter Dora Kay in October 1999. From Travis' birth, I got to learn first hand about most interventions used in labor and birth. With my second birth, I employed the hands and heart of a doula. With my doula’s encouragement and unwavering belief in me, I was able to believe in myself. I gave birth to a 9 lb. 2 oz. daughter with no medication! Her birth made me realize the importance of education and support. My third child, Gracie, came out much in the same way as her sister before her, another wonderful VBAC with a midwife. Our fourth child, Ruthie came to us from China in the form of a fun-filled adoption! Please feel free to also call me at my home 919-870-0778.
